Ser y ajo, a holiday paradise in the Sierra Nevada of Spain. For people who appreciate tranquillity, simplicity and seclusion. An ecological
holiday destination with plenty of land and great recreational value.
Ser y ajo works sustainably with its own horticulture and its own water and electricity supply.
The natural, wild terrain is available to guests for recreation.
Part of the land is available for food production, and produce from the organic garden can be purchased.
The holiday home
The simple house offers:
The holiday home can be rented as a whole. There is also the possibility of a holiday flat-sharing community if only part of it is rented.
The half of the holiday home is occupied by the guests alone. The landlords either stay in the other half of the main house or sleep in another building a few hundred metres away.
Property
Drinking water supply
The water is unchlorinated and has varying yields depending on the weather. The water from this spring is fed into the kitchen and bathroom. Some of
the water can be heated with a solar panel so that hot water is also available in the colder months of the year.
Electricity situation
- There is no electricity connection to the public grid
- To produce some electricity, there are small solar panels on the roof, approx. 10 metres from the bedroom. The solar panels fill a battery that supplies the sockets with 12 V. There is only one
socket in each room.
- To achieve 220 V, a transformer can be connected. This then converts the 12 V into 220 V, which is necessary for the use of electrical appliances. The electricity is fed into the kitchen using
an extension cable.
Due to the limited power of the batteries, good planning is advisable when running the household, e.g. whether to run the washing machine or something else.
Internet and communication
- A router can be switched on and off. Once a day, the wireless device is switched on to exchange messages, approx. 1 hour per day. This can be
done by arrangement with the guest, in absence or presence, e.g. to receive/send messages yourself.
- Mobile phone reception is available on the property, with varying quality depending on the weather.
Daily Supply
Thanks to the self-sufficient lifestyle of the landlords, including vegetable cultivation (tomatoes, peppers, onions, leeks, carrots, kohlrabi, garlic, beans,
nuts and much more), a good supply of fresh, organic food is available on site. You can pay a flat rate for meals (mostly vegetarian or vegan by arrangement) or buy food from the pantry. This
makes a holiday without a car possible. A lift into town, e.g. for shopping, can be arranged.
Prices
Laundry package and final cleaning included.
